Skyrim won't go to the menu (PC)

When I want to play Skyrim and I go to steam click on the play button I cannot get to the real skyrim menu on which you actually click the play button. It's just loading and loading forever adn saying preparing to launch the elder scrolls V: Skyrim. My Skyrim was always very buggy and often froze and I wasn't able to save or do anything. Is there a way to re download or reinstall the game?

Yeah. Open your library, right-click on Skyrim and select Delete Local Content. Then reinstall the game.

It's possible to just move the data and put it back instead of redownloading, but in your case it's probably best to download things fresh.
