Hello guys,
I'm planning to replace my GTX 460 graphic's card with GTX 1060 AERO ITX 3G OC and since I'm using an old monitor, I have a question about cable connections.
The monitor I am using (SONY SDM-HX73) has a SL-DVI-D input cable and the GPU I'm planning to buy (GTX 1060 AERO ITX 3G OC) has a DL-DVI-D output, so my question is:
1) Is my old monitor compatible (considering the cable connection, in particular, the input and output) with the GTX 1060 AERO ITX 3G OC? The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 1024MB SOC, I'm currently using, has a DL-DVI-I output and my monitor is working fine, so I assume that it should work correctly with the GTX 1060 AERO ITX 3G OC too, but I need your confirmation just to get rid of my doubts.
PS. I'm planning to upgrade my monitor to a better one (most likely to the one with 1980x1080 resolution) in the near future, so don't judge me for this currently ridiculous 1280x1024 resolution ))
In addition, I have other few questions to ask:
2) Is GTX 1060 AERO ITX 3G OC worth it? At first, I was considering GTX 1050 Ti G1 Gaming 4G but after checking the benchmarks for these cards, I've changed my mind and decided to go with GTX 1060 AERO ITX 3G OC. So (considering the future perspectives and price difference in my country), should I pay the extra 60€ and proceed with GTX 1060 AERO ITX 3G OC or should I stick with GTX 1050 Ti G1 Gaming 4G? I've also red that some people are experiencing problems of severe overheating when using the GTX 1060 AERO ITX 3G OC because of its single fan, which sometimes seems to malfunction or something like that, so is this even a thing to greatly worry about it?
3) Should I be worried about the size of my computer case? The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 1024MB SOC, I'm currently using, is an ATX-sized GPU (correct me if I've mistaken) and the GTX 1060 AERO ITX 3G OC is an ITX-sized GPU, which is obviously smaller, but I am not sure whether I be able to fit it into my motherboard (H55M-S2H) and screw it onto my computer case correctly. (I know that this is an absurd question but I need to be sure )
4)I'm using the i5-760 CPU, so what would be the probability of bottleneck if I've yet decided to purchase the GTX 1060 AERO ITX 3G OC?
Thank you
