Im having horrible problems with windows, internet crashing, and other things... With windows, it crashs when windows is starting, loading all the differert programs, it does it every so often and i can find out why. Also the resident programs are taking like, 30% of my resources and i exit all the ones i see on the taskbar, but there are like 10 others running when i hit ctrl alt del. Is there a another program i can get to control all of this [-peep-]?
Now for the internet... I live in the oklahoma city area and i have MSN. I use there new explorer, but when i connect at 50666 bps, it will kick me off about 60 seconds after signing in. This happens like non-stop.( to stay on i connect at 46666 or slower) My modem is a Ambeint fax modem, with an intel chipset. It is sharing an IRQ with my harddrive (problem maybe???im thinking so)... IF this is a problem, where can i change the irq for the modem, Bios? And yes the modem does support IRQ sharing, but i dont know if the harddrive does. And it just isnt MSNs servers, because my friend uses MSN and she always get connected, and used the same number as me. Now how can i fix these problems?????

I have a duron 700
128 mb pc133
gforce 2 mx
old ata 66 8.4 harddrive
ambient ham data fax modem intel chipset 56k

I think you've still got a little 'shell-shock' from that load of fertilizer....

You might try messing around with your s# registers, which can be found in the manual. I have a friend who used to have the same problem with aol, but I narrowed it down to her apt. complex. People living next door would call, and somehow it 'stepped' onto her phone line a bit, like the complex was trying to save money by routing calls digitally and using up the whole bandwidth.

Do you get kicked off at 12 midnight, 5am, and 10am? (when not a lot of people are on)

Run "msconfig" from the run window. It will allow you to control which programs run at startup. You might be able to identify which ones are causing problem. You only need system tray and explorer running at startup.

THIS IS YOUR PC TECHNICIAN.

YOU ARE ALMOST RIGHT. ONLY FOR WIN ME, CLICK ON START, HIGHLIGHT SETTINGS TYPE IN MSCONFIG, CHOOSE SELECTIVE STARTUP, UNCHECK LOAD STARTUP GROUP ITEMS, CLICK ON THE STARTUP TAB AND CHECK *STATEMGR, SCAN REG, SYS TRAY AND PC HEALTH. THEN CHECK APPLY THEN OK, THE SYSTEM WILL REBOOT
