SLI 1070 worth it

So I am planning to SLI my GTX 1070 (rog strix) after I get the 7700k because I am stuck on my i7 4790. Will my rig be able to nearly max out games with a 7700k with SLI 1070 in 5 years?

Lol i7-4790 is one of the best i7's for generations why you say you are stuck with it? Do you already have 1 1070?

I really want the new 7700k because Ill get like 10+fps out of it in games like watch dogs 2. And yes, I have a GTX 1070.

It's difficult to call that far out. But probably not at 2k and certainly not 4k, or 8k if that comes around in 5 years.

For some perspective, the GTX 670 is about 5 years old now. And 670 SLI is roughly equivalent to what, a single 970 now? Not to mention SLI is a bit dodgy with game support and issues even now.

Well you wont get more FPS in watch dogs 2 because my 1070 is being used on around 85% and my cpu around 100. Thats in 1080p with i5-4460. You wont gain any fps with something more than an i7-4790 cause it wont even be fully used in that game.
