SLI 660 at 1440p

So, I'm deciding what monitor to buy, a higher end 144Hz 1080p monitor, or a 1440p 60Hz monitor, both would be used for medium to high gaming(Dota 2-Crysis 3/Far Cry 3/ Witcher 2). I have 2 660's in SLI and I am wondering how good the performance would be on the 1440p monitor because that really dictates my final decision. If I could get your guys' opinion that would really help, as I have no real experience with 1440p. Thanks!!
