If you wanna skip straight to the point read the "TLDR" (aka Too Long Didnt Read) at the end of this post, thanks.

So i was looking for a card to match with my evga SC gtx 780 ti acx
Base Clock: 1006 MHz
Boost Clock: 1072 MHz
Memory Clock: 7000 MHz Effective
CUDA Cores: 2880

Since the only matching card i can find new is over $1200 lol i was looking at two options, according to nvidia i can sli a card of the same model (780ti) as long as both cards have the same amount of memory (3gb) and both have the same gpu. Last i read the reference pcb being used needed to be the same as well so i know a GIGABYTE GV-N78TWF3-3GD G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 780 Ti card will sli with my current card but sadly id have to overclock it or underclock my current card since the gigabyte card runs at....
Core Clock
876MHz
Boost Clock
928MHz

Or what i would prefer to use which i dont know if its technically the same reference board and i have no clue if the gpus match on any of these cards due to my lack of knowledge/understanding, i just trust what i read about the gigabyte matching my current card.... i would rather use a

EVGA GeForce GTX 780Ti Classified Kingpin card matching everything almost to my current card but the board is noticebly larger than the board on my current card so idk if that matters?
Base Clock: 1072 MHz
Boost Clock: 1137 MHz
Memory Clock: 7000MHz
CUDA Cores: 2880
Memory Detail: 3072MB GDDR5
^^^^ thats the kingpin classified 780ti i wanna know if i can run sli with my current SC 780ti non classified video card

TLDR: Can i sli an evga gtx 780ti classified kingpin edition card with my non classified evga SC gtx 780ti (acx cooler edition/version)?

Solution

Yes you can SLI the Classified and non-classified. The card needs to hold the same GPU. The PCB and cooler does not need to be the same. The K1NGP1N Classified is essentially a factory overclocked 780 Ti with all the bells...
i get all that but considering the ti classified is a classified designated card and mine is not does that mean i can not sli them or can they sli thats what i need to know yes or no on because the pcb is nothing like the normal 780 ti reference card/board... i know vram is not doubled it just needs to match for sli to work according to what i read

so again is that a yes i can use the kingpin classified card or is that a no i cant and must use a regular non classified ti card? thnx for the input so far

Yes you can SLI the Classified and non-classified. The card needs to hold the same GPU. The PCB and cooler does not need to be the same. The K1NGP1N Classified is essentially a factory overclocked 780 Ti with all the bells and whistle. So once again, yes you can.

thanks i needed it spelled out for me cuz im very literal and didnt read an exact "yes you can" (with the kingpin/classified) i was just getting yes u cans and didnt know if that meant the 2 780 ti cards only or both those and the 780 ti and ti classified combos being viable

thanks again guys wish me luck
