This has actually been discussed a few times through this past few weeks.
However, the overall winner from reviews and posts I read is 980 typically from its great price point.

I have 2x 780TI and game on 4k, and two cards with 4790k under the same loop. OC slightly on all three of them. GPU Temp usually sit around 65c at full load. CPU 60-70c when gaming. I don't care how much I will need to pay for an upgrade to 980. I just want the best performance out of it.

What is your opinion on going to 2x 980 or should I stay with what I have for now regardless price.

[strike]SLI GTX 970, far better value for not a huge performance increase. Save your money up as the GTX 970 is almost half the price of the 980 but is only 10% slower. - GTX 780Ti SLI vs GTX 970 SLI vs GTX 980 SLI - [/strike]

Just noticed he already has the 780Ti's.

At least use the link for the performance differences between the GTX 980 SLI and GTX 780Ti SLI.

Why would he want to spend money for a downgrade?

The only choices are stay pat, which is what any sane person would do, or go 980's, when money is absolutely a non factor.

Hey, he did say that money was not a problem, as long as he gets the performance he wants lol.

I didn't see that he had the 780Ti's already! Thanks for that bystander.

Thank you for your link. I will go with SLI 980 eventually when there's more blocks coming out. Or if the mystery 980ti ever exists and become an option. Cuz the only thing that holds me back is the wider memory bus of 780ti but I would gain 1g more vram from 980. Benchmark mostly is a less or equal 10% increase. The other reason I feel like to go 980 is multi-displayport.
