SLI 780ti w/ Triple 1440p PQ278Q monitors

Hey guys, so, I was wondering if my two watercooled (custom loop) superclocked 780tis will be able to run the new triple PQ278Q monitors that are coming out soon (1ms, 1440p, G-Sync, 144hz, 27 inches)? If so, how many FPS do you think I would be able to hit in Ultra/High?

A few points:
1) You can roughly approximate by the number of pixels (i.e. double the resolution is about half the frame rate).

2) It will vary significantly by the game.

3) A LOWER resolution per monitor is likely going to be best for most games such as "5760x2160" for the game which is effectively 1920x1080 on each monitor.

Many games don't look much better at 2560x1440 such as Crysis 3 but your performance drops by roughly 30% and you may fill up your 3GB Framebuffer.

So there's no single answer to your question. Adjust the resolution and quality settings like you would with a single monitor to get the best results.

Since it is G-SYNC I'd aim for 50FPS as the average though some games at Ultra may go higher as they aren't demanding so that's fine. Note you want to get to 100FPS+ to get Lightboost working properly.

(Personally I'd just game on a single monitor. I find a single 27", 2560x1440 fills a large part of my field of view nor do I want to deal with turning my head constantly, bezel gap and distortion.)

Thanks for the time you invested into this. I am probably going to just buy 3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313 because my current VX238H is only 60hz, and does not have a vesa mount, or 3D. What do I need to use the 3D on this? Just these glasses? http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-geforce-3d-vision2-wireless-glasses-kit-us.html

You will need the whole kit ($149), not just the glasses. The monitor does not come with a transmitter. The link you provided though does link to a newegg page for the whole kit. That is what you'll need for 3D across those three monitors.

To further answer your initial question - no, you would not be able to do 3-way Surround with the PG278Q unless you have 3-Display Ports on your two graphics cards. You would need a 780 Tri-SLI setup, since most of the 700 series cards only come each with one DisplayPort. Converters will not work, as DVI and HDMI cannot output 144 Hz at 2560x1440p.

In a weird catch-22, G-SYNC and NVIDIA drivers *Currently* does not support 3-way Surround over DisplayPort in SLI (one DP per-card) anyway. Presently, to use SLI *and* Surround, you need all 3 monitors on *one* of the cards, not divvied up over all of them. Nvidia is currently working to fix this.

Hope this answers your question. As a VG248QE owner, I will say it's a great monitor. However, I am definitely looking at picking up one of those PG278Q's.
