I have currently a Galaxy GeForce 9600GT. If I bought a MSI GFX760, can I SLI the two together and get better production or how does this work?

Also, I have considered 7950 for my new card, does it make sense to buy two 7790 2GB OC'ed and combine them to top the 7950?

Crossfire doesnt work to well, but amd release new drivers that will help the performance but anyone will tell u that a fast single card is better.

Now for u first question u can use the 9600gt with the 760 but not in sli, the 9600gt can be used a physX card but ur fps in games that use physX will be worse for how weak the 9600gt is compared to the 760gtx. Do run sli or crossfire the cards need to be matching model so two 760s or two 7790s. In some occasions like from amd u can crossfire a 7770 and 7750 as they run the same gpu chip.

I'd def go with a single 760 or 7950. The 760 performs as good or better than a 670 and the 7950 about the same so both are a good choice. The 760 will be more power efficient but the 7950 should be...

Thanks Very Helpful....

Question, I am leaning 7950 over 760, because I plan to overclock. I understand the oc 7950 outpaces the 760 all around. my question is I have looked specifically at Gigabyte 7950 and Sapphire Vapor X 7950. For the 760 I would go MSI. Which choice would you do?? 7950 OC or the 760 OC? also if 7950, which card mentioned would you go with or has better OC potential? Feel free to add in a choice I havent considered.

I do 50/50 gaming/media center usage. I stream my shows and movies. I also have a FX 8350 and Gigabyte 990-UD3 4.0, that is on its way which I ill OC.

I personally like asus as their cooling design is one of the best, gigabytes is pretty good too. The asus 7950 is quite big is a 3 slot card and is a higher priced 7950, and is only $60-80 less than the asus 7970.

Out of the two u mentioned for the 7950 the gigabyte would be my choice if not the asus one.

Overclocking wise I'm not too sure on but i heard the 760 is a good overclocker, but the 7950 being amds 2nd best single gpu card from the 7000 series it is probably just as good as the 760. It also matters on the card u get for the parts used and the cooling solution. Personally Id get the 7950 just because the fact its cheaper than the 760, u get 3 free games, and im gpu intense games it beats the 760.

The 7950 OC'd does catch up tot he 760..... but not to the 760 OC'd
