SLi Configuration! Whats best?

Hey, I got a bit of problem...

I want to work my way to an SLi setup fairly quickly but I dont know what GPU to use to do so. I currently have a EVGA 780 SC but I am planning on buy a 970 or 980, I want to get one of these mostly because of the power efficiency and the overclocking potential the 900 series card have.

what should I do?
SLi 780
SLi 970
SLi 980
or should I wait?

Cheapest would be another 780 used.

Obviously 980 SLI is going to perform the best.

SLI 780, IMO. Unless your trying to run at 4K resolution then SLI 980.

Yhh I don't really have the money for 4K yet but I considering that 980 just about run 4K I guess I could wait another year for the 1000 series or whatever its called.
