SLI EVGA GTX 770 ACX SC 2gb vs GTX 1060 MSI Gaming X

Hey guys, so my roommate and I have the same build, we are running 4670k's with 8 gigs of ram and EVGA Superclocked 770's(2gb). I recently purchased an MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X and no longer need my 770. I was wondering whether it would be worth it for my roommate to purchase my 770 for $150-175 and run SLI instead of purchasing his own 1060. I purchased my 1060 for $289.99 on Newegg if that helps come up with a good solution.

Where does the value outweigh what he might gain in performance?

Games he plays: Skyrim, Hearthstone, WoW, Overwatch.

What does the performance gap look like?

Any and all help is appreciated.

purchasing your 770 = $150 spent.

purchasing a 1060 and selling his 770 = 140 spent

Financially and probably performance wise he is better off getting the 1060, assuming he can sell his 770 for 150

I always prefer one stronger card as opposed to two weaker cards, 1060 will probably offer better performance and (as mentioned above) could cost less
