sli gtx 1070's disply port to hdmi adapter not working

ok so I am trying to set up a nvidia surround setup, however I have AOC 2757 monitors that only have 2 HDMI + VGA, So I purchased a couple dp to hdmi adapters, mind you all three screens work when plugged in using HDMI, or DVI-HDMI, however none work at all when plugged in via EITHER of the DP-HDMI adapters. (I have actually even ran all three monitors off seperate ports on the two cards successfully however they do not work when plugged into the adapters ... Have tried all three dp ports even with only a single monitor plugged into hdmi or DVI it never displays, Drivers reinstalled, computer restarted and cords replugged in etc. Always fails. Any suggestions here?

please note: even with only a single dp to HDMI adapter doesn't work.

Video cards are EVGA GTX 1070 SC X2 with sli enabled. (or disabled neither allows outputs to DP adapters.)
