Im looking to upgrade my graphics cards i currently have 2xgtx 970 asus strix cards.i was woundering if it is worth upgrading to a single gtx 980ti asus strix card i 50/50 on this decision don't know wheather it's worth it or not.

Solution
What resolution do you game at? My thought is no as all you gain is an extra 2-2.5gb VRAM and none of the downsides of sli. In games well optimised for Sli the 970's will perform slightly better at 1080p & 1440p
Oops sorry voted down on accident ^
Scrolling down on my phone lol

you won't notice much of a different going from 970 sli to a single gtx 980 ti, unless the games you play aren't optimized for sli,
If probably wait for the pascal card to upgrade again as you basically have a 980 ti

Unless you can sell your 970s to compensate the cost of a 980TI, I would just stick with what you have. The performance between the two is nothing, but what it would do is give you the ability to do SLI 980Tis down the road, less power consumption, less heat generated by SLi and less headaches of poorly optimized games for SLI and extra vram that you dont have right now. It would be more of a lateral move though, so I wouldnt expect any performance increases. 2x970s=980TI in most cases.

Well i can get around 420 pounds if i sold both of my gtx 970 and the gtx 980ti costs about 570 pounds so im still undecided on wheather its worht doing it because from what ive seen on most games the sli 970s outperform a single 980ti at 1080p and 1440p but then again there is the factor of 980ti been quiter and cooler and having 6gb vram
