got an msi gtx 680 lightning going to pair it with evga gtx 680 classified 4gb on windows 8.1 is this possible
all installed go to NVidia control panel 3d settings only option is configure surround, physx no mention of sli

It is always best to pair identical spec'd cards, and the Lightning is a 2gb memory card and the Classy is a 4gb card, the clocks are close enough so you'll just have to see what happens, I would imagine you'll loose the extra 2gb of memory in the translation as they'll be clocked to matching equality more than likely.

The most important thing is making sure you have the power supply to handle an SLI setup, I'd recommend a single 12v rail power supply in the 800W + minimum range, and preferably closer to 1000W.

Good Luck to You!
