I am starting a new MicroATX build with a white Corsair air 240. My components are: pentium G3258, PNY GTX 960, 8GB of 1600MHz HyperX fury RAM and corsair CX430M.
I was struggling with the motherboard choice though.
I wanted something that supported sli to put in another gtx 960 later with just using 4 pci slots because I didn't want to change the case. I found the Asus Maximus VII Gene but figured that it was too expensive so I thought of getting a gigabyte motherboard but I can only find motherboards that uses 5 slots for sli. Can anyone recommend me a motherboard that supports 4 slot sli and not too expensive? Or should I use sli on a 16x/4x on the gigabyte z97mx gaming 5? Or is it super necessary to change the case I love?

Yes supports dual slot videocard on the with 8x/8x mode. Your 4x slot will be covered if u use a dual slot card (the heatsink of the card comes over the 4x slot).Supports crossfire and sli so yea it will work a gtx 960 sli.
