[SOLVED] sli or upgrade?

hey guys i want to push my pc to either 4k or 1440p and am thinking of either going for an sli or a better gpu whats are your thoughts? heres my current build:https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WmNHw6

Invest in one good GPU.

Though a GTX 1080 should handle 1440p fairly well.

VietGuy is right.
Depends on your budget however. 1080 is good for 1440p, but if you have a pretty decent sized budget, a 2080 or 2080ti would not hurt. But if a limiting budget exists, just stick with 1080.

From my tests and what I have seen, SLI is not a very worthwhile upgrade. Support is decreasing, but if you get a very good deal on a 2nd hand 1080 and have a spare SLI bridge, then you can consider it.

If you can't decide between 1440p or 4k, how can anyone give you an answer?
They are 2 totally different formats.
Choose one and then people can advise.

As other have said, for 1440p your GTX 1080 is good enough, but since you have a 144 Hz monitor you should buy an RTX 2080 or 2080 Ti based on y our budget. Don't go with SLI, it is not worth the money and additional power cost. If you stick to 1440p 144 Hz and the GTX 1080, then you might not get 144 FPS in all games due to GPU limitation. If you want 1440p 144 Hz, get an RTX 2080 or 2080 Ti. If you want 4K 60 Hz, get the RTX 2080.
