Hi guys,

So I got tired of reading reviews and cannot have a clear idea of what I need or want. The idea is to buy a power supply which will be 'open for future upgrades' and that means a second gpu.

Firstly would start with a gtx 770 (maybe lightning) So I heard that a good 800w will do the job for the 2 of them, but if overclocking ,maybe 1000w would be preferable.

I had in mind for a long time a X-850w from Seasonic but heard cpu cables are just short?
Also saw a few reviews for the 1000w edition and the 860w platinum one.

Any help? 🙂

Both will work but i would go for some headroom with the 1000w.I would go with this one ^

1st one is GOLD
2nd one is PLATINUM

Yeah the Xfx one seems convincing. I won't look at prices there as I don't have a clue about dollars. Will look in gbp but I can just google that or see any shops from here. That page was quite good anyway to configure your systems 🙂

I mean 1000w seems quite more than enough but saw someone testing this psu with even 2x 590 gtx which are really power hungry and they didn't even use 800 I think that 770 does not use that much power.

I don't think I will overclock the gpus as 2 of them seem enough lol. So you still agree with a 1000w, I never had a power supply that big so just wondering if there is something I should be aware of.
Thanks

Don't heed the name, heed the quality, BeQuiet make some solid power supplies with high class componantry.

Yeah I did look for Bequiet power supplies because I already own one (the straight power 580w) gold which is damn good but I rejected them because they failed the Haswell compatibility(to deliver such as low wattages)

I think an 800+ gold should be enough. So thanks so far for the comments I will do a little research later on and make my mind up! 🙂

I had not mad much of the issue when it broke making it out to be a minor technical issue sorted after a few BIOS updates. So I googled;

Compatibility List

These units the vendors 100% endorse of the list;

Coolermaster Silent Pro M2's
Corsair AX and HX
Antec HCP/Platinum
SeaSonic X Series, Platinum Series.

Like I needed anymore reasons to dislike Intel but all to our own.
