Question SLI PROBLEMS HELP

so I'm trying my first attempt at SLI, I have two 970 evga GTX cards and my mother board is a gigabyte z490 aorus. I have everything install windows can see both cards but in the control panel it will not let me enable sli. from what I've read it doesn't matter what brand bridge i use it should work . I did not have the bridge that came with the mother board so I used a bridge from another mother board and asus flexible bridge. any insight would be appreciated.

yes i think i found my problem and it sucks https://www.evga.com/support/faq/FAQdetails.aspx?faqid=59534 if im understand this chart right my cards are not compatible even tho they are both evga 970 gtx i have model number 04g-p4-3975-kr and model number 04g-p4-2974-kr. this sucks lol i bought a 970 on ebay to match the 970 even bought the same brand and they dont match
