im wanting to buy a new pc b/c i kinda fried my last one. and i was wondering if you could run sli on lets say a x38 intel mother board. from what i know i thought sli could only run on a nforce sli motherboard but i have heard that ati is making drivers so that you can use ati crossfire on a nforce sli board. basically can you run sli on any mother board that has two pci express x16 slots?

No... and Yes

I have see hacked driver to make it work. But Nvidia has the site take them down or Nvivia will take Legal Action.

Nvidia makes that so people will buy the Nvidia chipset...Unlike ATI where Crossfire will work on almost all boards the have 2XPCIE_16 slots.

So If you want SLI buy Nvidia chipsets, or find hacked drivers that may or may not work.

The only hacked drivers I can find that work and haven't been taken down work with 7 and 6 series cards only. They are the 84.56 drivers, which are very old, and cannot be guaranteed to work correctly on newer games.
