Hey, I recently swapped out my i5 8600k, but in the process of cleaning it and putting it pack into its packaging, I dropped it, chipping a corner slightly, but within the lighter green area. I already sold its Motherboard, so I can't actually test it if its working. Is it still worth trying to sell it?

That should not present a big problem but good luck selling it like that specially when you can't prove it's working.

It is a delidded CPU with liquid metal (done professionally not by me), and could hit easily 5.1 GHz so it would be a shame if it no longer works

Wow...have to disclose all that fully to a buyer too. But that will work both ways since it may very well be attractive enough to a specific type of buyer to overcome concerns. It's worth a try but it must come with full return and refund assurances since you can't test it to make a confident claim of full operation.

If I were to run it I'd probably lightly coat the damaged corner with some clear fingernail polish to prevent any moisture intrusion.
