slipstreaming XP and SP2 to DVD

Hi all. I was able to follow the THG for slipstreaming XP and SP2, and everything seems OK, but I want to burn it to a DVD instead of a CD. What would I have to do differently to create a bootable slipstreamed DVD assuming I use Nero 6.3? Appreciate any help.

I'm using a Compaq OEM version of XP Home and by the time I get it slipstreamed it's about 740 MB, so it won't fit on one CD. I guess there are lot of extra Compaq files on the disk, but I don't know which ones I can safely delete. So, I thought I'd just burn it to a DVD. It won't cost that much more, and I can load it up with other software I typically use. Any ideas?

I would like to know too about possibility to create bootable DVD.
I would like to use it to compose one install medium with all my software I use, and put it on DVD with unatended instalation script.

EDIT: Just tried it and it works.
Extracted Original WinXP CD, then integrated SP2, in Nero created DVD Bootable and used bootblock from CD. Then added directory instal, where I put all other stuff, like Windows commander, WinRAR, Direct X, .NET Framework etc. and burned. Didnt tried to fully install WinXP yet, but I booted into Instalation screen without problems.

Only difference I found between my bootblock and Bootblock from Guide here is, that my bootblock isnt named Microsoft, but Arnes boot block. Dont know why - maybe I have WinXP Select with integrated SP1?

Thanks for your input, Khostri. It was the boot loader that I was wondering about. I wasn't sure I could use the same one for a DVD. I'll try it. How's the unattended setup going? That sounds like fun to configure, though it would be really nice to have it.

Also .. how can you burn the bootable CD/DVd if you only have nero express.. it doesnt feature the expert mode so you can only specify the nero loader or one from a floppy disk (std system)

Dont forget that you can always overburn a cd, I have overburned up to around 740mb with no problems at all...and as regards nero, im sure you can find what you need floating around somewhere if you look hard enough =)

oh.. but this is two months later.. and 900mb cd-r is out 😛. I wasn't the one needing nero though, I am pretty well equipped I've got this huuuuge Nero 6.3 Ultra package, but don't know what half of them do yet 😀

I still have overcome to try the slipstreaming process though :/

hehehe, yeah nero is the best aint it...i have barely used half the programs/formats which it can do.....slipstreaming is supposed to be easy, just follow the guide and you can pretty much add whatever you want to i think..never even knew there was a 900mb cd-r out there where have i been living all these years???!!!!

okay, I "slipped" it.. i'll try actually installing it in a few days time, wuh! service pack2 made windows update so much easier i contrast to having to download the updates from the internet every time (before the sp2 release)

Call one of their stores and ask. Dont rely on the website. It may or may not say for sure. Circuit City and Office Depot fail to list a good many of their rebates on the website.
