I av an Athlon 3000, and want better cooling. Ive heard the thermalright SLK900U is extremely good air cooling. Is the thermaltake Aquarius II a good liquid cooler? Asuming money is not an issue, which one should i go for?

Well if you get a really powerful loud fan SLK900U is better, but then again it's really limited with AMD motherboard compatibility, so what kind of motherboard you got? The Aquarius is quiet but it's fairly bad.

I hate Computers! My P4 2.4C won't go above 3840mhz. My Sapphire 9800pro core/mem speed won't go above 490/790. I really hate computers!

Unless you live in a hot climate and/or overclock it like mad on 2 volts, the slk900A is the best choice. Its a revised version of the 900u and fits 99% of amd boards and is lighter, smaller and clips on rather than having to take out the motherboard. And its only .5-1C hotter than the bigger U version. With a smartfan 2 on medium setting, expect excellent cooling while keeping things quiet. Or if you want maximum performance while still keeping things not so audible, use 2 smartfans on low-medium setting. I have this combination on my SK7 and overclocked 2500 @ 2.3ghz/1.8v. They are both running at a very quiet 3,200rpm and keeping my cpu under 50C most of the time. Right now im idling at 43C (20c ambient), even at 1.8 volts.

you won't be able to get SLK900U on a7n8x. It just won't fit there's capacitors on the way.

Check out the compatibility for the slk900A.

I'm thinking of getting that heatsink, but I'm not sure on what fan would compliment. I'm on a mission to reduce noise so I was looking at the Papst 8412 NG 80mm fan to go with it. Any thoughts on the Papst?
