Question Slot 1&2

Motherboard: MSI Z170A KRAIT 3
Cpu:6700k
Ram:vengeance 16gb 2400mhz

So my ram works perfectly fine in any combination including slot 3 and 4 but as soon as any thing is entered into slot 1 or 2 then the computer fails to boot and the cpu and ram light alternate flashing. Something is clearly getting detected in the slots to cause the issue but I’m hoping the slots haven’t had it?

Slots 2 and 4 are the correct slots for dual channel operation. Have you TRIED installing your DIMMs in slots 2 and 4, rather than 1 and 2 or 3 and 4? Slots 2 and 4 are the correct slots for ALL dual channel motherboards when two DIMMs are in use. There are no exceptions.
