Slot-loading BD not accepting discs

I bought a slot-loading Blu-Ray drive to go in my Fractal Design Node 804 case. It wasn't easy finding one but I ended up with the CA40N drive (http://amzn.eu/1GwaJQc).

It's all set up with Windows 10 but it isn't accepting any discs. Whenever I try to insert a disc (about 2/3s of the way in) it will try to pull the disc in some more but then spit it out. It will never take the disc all the way in, leaving about 1cm sticking out. I've tried this with CDs, DVDs and BDs, in case that made any difference.
I had to make some changes to my Motherboard (Asrock 970m) for it to accept the disc and had to plug it into a specific SATA port, but Windows now sees the drive in Device Manager and My Computer (or whatever that's called now).

I tried changing some registry entries based on the solution here, but it's still not working.

Does anyone know what might be the problem here? Is it an issue with Windows 10 or more likely a hardware fault?

Sounds like a hardware fault. I have a slot-load BD Burner (Panasonic UJ-265) in my HTPC. With Windows 8, 8.1, and now 10, it works fine. Never had any settings to adjust. Always pulls disc in normally since new.

A thought I have is possibly one of the mounting screws is in to far somewhere on the drive. The drive motor rejects the disc from going in completely.

Hmm, good point about the mounting screws. I'll loosen them and see if anything happens. If that doesn't fix it I'll probably just have to send it back to get a replacement.

Thanks

Update: Nope, it wasn't the screws. I'll try to return the drive. Thanks again
