[SOLVED] Slots on a motherboard

i have a msi pc mate h270 board and it has 2 different sizes for an m.2 slot does that mean i can't use a certain size of m.2 or what type of m.2 drive do i need to buy.

• M2_1 slot supports 2242/ 2260 /2280/ 22110 storage devices
• M2_2 slot supports 2242/ 2260 /2280 storage devices

22 = 22mm width
The other 2 digits indicate length.
2280 is the typical length for an M.2 storage device. It would work in either slot.
