Old system: i7 920 @ 3.8
evga x58 sli le mobo

Just upgraded to 3770k, running at 4.4
AsRock Z77 Extreme4

My boot times are slower than my old setup. What is wrong? I've tried reformatting windows 7 already. I have a 1tb WD Caviar green sata 2 32mb cache (WDC WD10EADS-00L5B1).

Are my hd tune scores about average? Or is my hard drive either completely pooched or my cpu is being bottle necked by this hard drive if that's even possible.

Thanks.

check that the hard drive sata cable on the intel port. some mb have 2 6g ports. intel and a 3 party chipset. in the bios make sure the sata ports are not set to raid or ide. under boot check the boot wait on error time out. most newer efi set it for 30 sec. set it to 10 sec. so you can get into the bios with the del key. setting the number to low will cause the mb to post faster then a keystroke can be seen. also most of the newer mb have two bios...try turning on quick boot and boot from efi bios only. the other thing that slow a mb at post is using a gpu and having the ipgpu turned on/or set as the first video output device. some people leave the ipgpu on incase the gpu go bad they can get into windows.

I have them set on sata ports 2/3 which are both sata 2 3.0gbps rated speeds. Sata controller is enabled and set to AHCI. I cant figure out how to turn quick boot on. Is igpu multi-monitor the same thing as the first video output device what you were talking about? No luck so far.
