Question Slow browser and discord speed using ethernet

So 2 months ago I switched from using wifi module to direct ethernet connection to my router. After that the opening of tabs, videos on youtube, uploading/downloading pictures and files in discord became extremely slow. Same thing across chrome based browsers (chrome, opera, vivaldi) and even in FF. But the regular download speed through browser was unaffected. Using old wifi adapter does make it work perfectly.
So I'm currently on my PC with B550 gaming X, built-in realtek ethernet adapter with latest drivers. I know, that steam/games/torrents and other stuff are unaffected and reaching the top speed of my current internet plan. I've tried to change DNS, cables, slots on router, driver versions, settings in chrome - nothing helped.
Any ideas? I've got wireshark, but the only thing I could understand is that TCP protocol got buffering issues?
I would be grateful for any help.

I would recommend you start by opening a cmd.exe window and running ipconfig.exe /all
Post the output of that command. It allows us to have a good overview of what your ethernet card configuration is.

Sure!

I would start by disabling ipv6 on your ethernet adapter.
You have 8.8.8.8 set as your DNS server. My ISP (Frontier) was having some slowness issues with the Google DNS servers. You could try the cloudfare (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 You should always have two DNS servers configured. So even if you keep the Google DNS you should add the second 8.8.4.4 server.

Turned off IPv6 and switched to Cloudfare DNS, nothing changed, but thanks for ideas.

Did you retype the results of "ipconfig /all"?

If so, rerun "ipconfig /all" and re-post. the entire results.

You should be able to use Copy and Paste to post the results with no need to retype "ipconfig /all".

No edits should be necessary.
I've just translated the month name. Okay, will post ipconfig /all again.

We have eliminated the most basic things.
I would next start a ping -n 100 192.168.0.1
and ping -n 100 8.8.8.8
The times shown should be consistent for the 100 pings and there should be no lost packets.

Ping statistics for 192.168.0.1:
Packets: Sent = 100, Received = 100, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 28ms, Maximum = 61ms, Average = 30ms

Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8:
Packets: Sent = 100, Received = 100, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 38ms, Maximum = 123ms, Average = 42ms

That timing to 192.168.0.1 should be much better than that. What is your ethernet connected to? Obviously not directly connected to your primary router...

And that is the entire "ipconfig /all"?

As I understand the history, the PC originally was using wireless - correct?

Wireless module now removed or at least disabled?

Wired connectivity only via one wired network adapter.
Yes, that's all ipconfig/all.
I was using an USB wifi-adapter and it's now removed, yes. Ethernet is the only connection now.

Yes, nothing in between.
Checked on another computer that uses powerline, it's 2-4ms there. Weird.
So, I would now say that you need to get a portable Linux on a USB stick. Boot that and try the same ping -n 192.168.0.1 test.
If your times are 1ms or lower, then you have a definite Windows problem. If they are still 20ms or higher, you have some other physical problem.

I guess Ubuntu 23.10 should work? Downloading it now.

Plus I will ask about that Cat 6 cable - specs?
IIRC it's this one https://gembird.com/item.aspx?id=4542

So yeah, tested it in Ubuntu - still 24-25 ms on average. I guess all what's left for me is to buy usb3-rj45 adapter to check if it's NIC to blame.
