Question Slow computer when entering desktop

Help my computer is unresponsive and slow for a while after startup and when I try to open programs it opens so slow I tried disabling startup programs cleaning disk running dism and sfc commands on windows PowerShell and updating drivers and windows and I also notice my disk going 100 percent I have an i5-8600k not overclocked an MSI z370 tomahawk a 16gb 24000 ram a Gtx 1060 6gb and a 1tb hard drive

defrag the hdd?
run health test on the hdd?

First, run malwarebytes and see if your results indicate to a malware infection.

Then make sure you're on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard. How old is the PSU?

Tried it all but yesterday I tried a fresh installation of windows then I notice my disk is 100 percent on some occasions and there are still lags but not as slow as it used to be

Health scan on HDD came out ok? How old is the hard drive? It wouldn't surprise me to see it slowing down if its near full and is 5+ years old, from my experience, depending on brand. What is task manager saying that the disk is reading/writing to?
