Hi. whenever i access the internet and go to youtube, facebook watching videos and logging into somethingg takes a really long time. but non internet stuff work fine on my pc like microsoft word

how can i check. i do use firefox and chrome. i feel i might have a lot of temp files that i dont need on my pc.

Cleanup all your internet history, downloads, etc.

Then do a disk cleanup and disk defrag.

If you don't know what speed internet connection your paying for every month, then I would suggest you find out what your paying for.

Windows has it's own disk cleanup and defragmentor. Just Right click your hardrive and select properties, cleanup is on the general tab while defrag is on the tools tab.


Vista's defragmentor sucks and takes forever, I suggest Smart Defrag 2 if you have Vista, It's what I use and it's free.

Be careful when using it.

that's odd... you would have to try hard to get ccleaner to mess your system up.... just run it on default settings... as long as you aren't using any of the clearly marked "advanced" or "experimental" features it should cause 0 issues... I've been using it for years... since the days when it was less politically correct and called CRAP Cleaner... too bad they decided to get all sensitive hippy and what not.... offend people... it's good for them... gives them something to do...

BTW you stalking me mister parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction?

And another thing stop making me remember 5th grade math stuff

If you are afraid of using external resources outside of your Windows 7 OS to clean your machine just run these steps:


IE:
Ctrl+Shift+Del (Press these with IE focused)

GC:
Wrench > Tools > Clear Browsing Data

FF:
Firefox Button > Options > Advanced Tab > Network Tab > [Offline Storage Category] > Clear Now

For cleaning up your network configuration, ignore the manual way, just run a diagnose on your connection:

Windows Logo(Key on keyboard) + R > ncpa.cpl + enter > right click your connection and click diagnose even though you are connected, then restart your machine.

If you still experience issue, try power cycling your router/modem. If you still experience more issues after that contact your ISP.

you could also try www.speedtest.net to check your internet speed. there could be an issue with your modem or something on comcast's end that's limiting your speeds.

what advice would u give me when i use ccleaner cause i rememeber my dad once tried to use a cleaner someone told him at work and i had to reinstall windows, because the whole windows tooked corrupt now i have a block on downloads on my pc so my dad cant mess it up.

CCleaner will not corrupt system at all. If it was corrupted, it was caused by something else. It cannot block the downloads either, its temp files cleaner and broken registry cleaner and better than Windows's own uninstaller!

2. Run install
3. click finish on install and leave check box to run checked (uncheck the readme unless you want to read it)
4. click yes to intelligently scan for cookies (makes it keep your login cookies for amazon, toms, newegg, etc)
5. click analyze and let it run
6. click run cleaner (you will need to close your browser so it can clear the temps files)

If you don't change the default settings at all it won't hurt anything (even if you changed the default settings I don't think it would hurt anything)

(lol, just followed my own advice as I didn't even have ccleaner on this laptop.... cleaned 2.25 GB of junk off it...)

one time... several years ago... this girl was using this system for the wrong purpose... This system was equipped with a self destruct mechanism... she accidentally activated it... the good thing is after you activate it a countdown begins in a dialog box with a picture of a bomb and like 36pt red font saying do you really want to do this??? and as soon as the dialog popped up... I watched as her mouse cursor zoooooomed past the bomb right to the yes and immediately clicked it... The moral of the story is most users are idiots and don't/can't read.

1.. Are you connected wirelessly?

2,,, When was the last time you installed windows?

3... When did you last delete your temporary internet files - history , cookies etc

4. have you tried using avg to do a free virus scan?

This just goes to show that ccleaner is to powerful for the average user, and anyone who just clicks next when installing a program.. There would be no need for IT if everyone read before they clicked.

Your best bet is to clear your cookies (only works if you haven't for years) clear your flash player cache (does wonders.)
**side note. If you are trying to watch videos on facebook, don't. Facebook servers are slow, no matter how fast your connection or computer is.
