Hello all,

I've overclocked my Athlon X4-860k to 4.5 GHz, using +.1200V. Max VCore reach is 1.404V currently.

When I first achieved this, I've had great overclock. Using benchmark softwares such as PerformanceTest, I've reached 7000 scores.

Few months later, I started getting like 6500 on PerformanceTest and lower score on CPU-Z.

Last few days, I been getting like 5700 scores.

Why is my CPU scores going down like that? It's like that for every other benching software, such as CineBench, GeekBench, CPU-Z, etc. Scores were much lower.

I've had this CPU and this overclock for about 6 - 8 months now.
I've ran a BurnIn test and CPU was stable. It was still functioning and didn't freeze.

The motherboard I am using is: F2A55M-DS2. Using a 500W Thermal Lake PSU.

No, the article is saying that because of VRM heat issues, you will not be very successful.
I imagine your cpu is downclocking for heat reasons.

Take off the case side cover and direct a house fan at the innards to cool the motherboard.
See if that helps.
The motherboard is from Gigabyte. The full model (including the firmware version) is: GA-F2A55M-DS2. Is that still true regarding not supporting overclocking? I am confused because it provided a nice interface to overclock, as well as EasyTune 6, which does seem to do very easily. I've had no problems with overclock and stability, but it's just being slower days by day.
