So ive had this laptop from acer the specific model being aspire v5 561g, ive stopped using it and recently have been using it again, the problem is it has very bad disk performance and its always peaking at 100% which is causing a big bottleneck in performance it also idles at 100%, ive turned off many services such as superfetch bits and even unistalled norton which always used disk and have started using windows defender and i also have scanned my computer with both norton and windows defender and dont have any viruses, i dont know what else to do besides sending it in for help, what else should i do? and how do i fix this?

I also see that when i start a program the system uses a lot of disk and so does the program but i dont know why the program does because before i stopped using it things such as chrome never peaked at 100% whenever i tried to open it

Hey there, tanklesstree.

Start backing up your data, just as a precaution. After that download an HDD diagnostic tool and test the drive for errors. It wouldn't hurt to give it a try with a different computer as well, if you have that option, and see if the same thing happens if you try running something off of it.
You could also check for available OS updates and install them, to see if that fixes things up.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.
