Can anyone help? My PC has started to boot up really slowing recently (about 1 month) and sometimes just hangs on the POST screen until I restart when it says 'BAD Check Sum' and I have to enter default values. I think the problems with my M/B but don't know how to check it (No viruses, conflicts etc) I'm running a Athlon XP 2400 on a Asrock K7S8X board with 512mb ddr 3200. Can anyone point me in the right direction to sort this out. Thanks

The first thing I'd try is pushing your RAM down to CPU bus speed (133MHz, DDR266, PC2100 speed).

Thanks for replying, I had been using PC2100 DDR it's only now (after a few weeks of the system slowing down) that I upgraded to PC3200. Hoping that would fix the problem but alas no. I'll try it anyway (nothing to lose). Thanks
