Hi, I am currently switching between ISPs.
Old_ISP: 15Mbps down
New_ISP: 50Mbps down
Old_ISP hasn't been giving me any issues.
New_ISP causes issues every other day, but only on one PC.
Every other day, my Desktop PC gets ~6Mbps instead of ~58Mbps (using Speedtest.net). Alternate days it gets the normal 58. Upload speed is consistent (5-6Mbps) regardless of day. This is testing with both a wired and wireless connection. The only changes lately are me rebooting things, which doesn't seem to have an immediate effect).
My Laptop PC gets a consistent ~50Mbps both wired and wireless (using the same wired connections). Cell Phone gets a consistent ~50.
If I switch back to my old ISP (different modem but same router), I get the expected ~22Mbps every time on all 3 devices.
Desktop:
OS: Windows 10
Wireless Adapter: Qualcomm Atheros AR938x Wireless Network Adapter (a/b/g/n)
- Driver: 3.0.2.182 March 12, 2015
- Connection Status: Speed: 300.0 Mbps
Ethernet Port: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
- Driver: 9.1.402.2015 April 2, 2015
- Connection Status: Speed 100.0 Mbps
Router: TP-Link TL-WR841ND V9 (N Router)
- Firmware: TL-WR841N_V9_150310 October 3, 2015
Modem: Motorola SURFboard 400 Series SB6141
- (Purchased last week, default settings & firmware)
Troubleshooting Items:
As far as I can tell, there isn't an active application running that throttles my speed (at least nothing apparent in Task Manager).
Bitdefender doesn't detect any viruses.
I have Power Management turned off for both network adapters.
I tried testing without Antivirus and Firewall, no difference.
I reset my network configuration, no difference.
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log
