Slow file transfer WLAN

Hi, Im trying to transfer files between my laptop windows 7 and my new pc windows 8.

Its a 6gb file, and its going painfully slow.

Its bouncing between 0bytes and caps at 355kbs.

I've seen it transfer at 1.2mb/s before but for somereason its capping at 355kbs any reason why?

WLAN always transfer slow than conventional cable ones whatever your router is able to transmit.

It sounds like your WIFI is connecting at one of the lowest speeds - 2.4Mb (Mega bits). You should check your router, your wireless card in your laptop and your desktop settings.

Do you use wireless B/G/N? N should get you the fastest transfer speeds.

Transfer speeds via WIFI also depend on how far apart each device is, if there is any metal/obstructions between them.
