Built a pc with a Haswell dual core pentium g3240 cpu and asus h81m-k motherboard with a r9 270x and gaming performance is unplayable at less than 5 fps at times, the reason for posting the question is that i have another system with the same specs ie. Haswell pentium g3240 with an asus h81m-e motherboard and r9 270x which performs like a champ in the same games. I dont understand why although both have the same specs except for a slight difference in the motherboard model there is such a drastic difference in performance. Especially since the asus h81m-k is more expensive than the h81m-e and is supposed to be a better motherboard. Would very much appreciate any advice or help on how to procede, is there a chance that i have bought a faulty/defective motherboard? or could it have something to do with incorrectly configured Bios settings? Thanking you for your time, Sincerely, Sam

Note:

* I am using the same drivers for the graphics card on both p.c's and have tried the r9 270x on the h81m-e and works great, so it is not a fault in the graphics card.

*both pcs use windows 8.1 with all drivers up to date

*both have more than adequate psu's so that does not seem to be the issue either.

Thank you for the quick reply, I will try to switch all the parts since i have not yet tried switching the memory modules or the psu's (although the psu has been working great with more demanding hardware prior to this motherboard), I think i might update the bios as well and perform a clean install of windows and drivers if i am unable to isolate which component is at fault, and will post again after trying this.
Thank you again for your help,
Sincerely, Sam

Dear PastTheCuckoosNest, I may have made an error by starting the post as a discussion and not as a Solution request which i noticed an option to do so while creating the post, It seems there is no option to select a best answer when starting a discussion post, unless i am mistaken, my apologies, I will try my best to address this situation, and in future will keep a note of the different types of posts.
Thank you again for the help,
