I bought a Lenovo Z50 (AMD) Laptop from PC World last year. It originally had a 1TB hard drive. The speed of it was up to scratch to it's specifications so I was happy with that. It would take about 30 seconds to boot up and another 30 seconds to log on. After 3 months, the speed of the laptop drastically decreased. It would take 4 minutes to boot up with an extra delay waiting for the password textbox to appear and 3 minutes to log on with an extra 2 to 3 minutes wait on the desktop icons/background and taskbar to appear plus even more time waiting for it to be stable (stable meaning start menu, show hidden icons and programs opening at a normal speed). I tried to diagnosed the problem by performing a fresh install of Windows 10. This didn't fix the problem so I replaced the hard drive with a spare I had lying around (150 GB). This fixed the problem restoring the time to bootup/log on to it's original time. After a little less than 3 months, it has returned back to it's slow long bootup/log on times.

Does anyone know if this error could be related to the speed and if there is a way I could fix my laptop. I know there is no way to fix a hard drive. Any information I receive is appreciated and I will be happy to supply more information in order to get more help.
Thank you

Thanks, does anyone know if I would be able to fix this manually? I'm probably going to put the warranty to good use but I still wanted to check.

That SMART value will stay there for ever even if problem is fixed but you can and maybe should change data cable anyway. If you are sending it back for warranty make sure you do Safe erase on it.
