[SOLVED] Slow internet after power out

Hi, my desktop internet connection has been running slow or wont connect at all. The power randomly went out one day and after it cut back on only my desktop barley connects. Mine and my dads laptop connects and two speed test say they're "very fast" but the desktop is the only one that runs slow. I've looked and tried update the network drive, change the DNS, restart router, restart pc, changed the ethernet cable but none worked and every other site says the same thing.

You might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling your networking adapter's driver. Speaking of network, how are you tethered to the www? Wirelessly or wired off of an aftermarket router?

thanks for responding, should I un and re install all of them ? and I'm on my Xfinity WIFI on my laptop its only my desktop that wont connect and it doesn't have Wi-Fi option if I wanted to try a hotspot

Try a wired connection. If that doesn't work. Boot to a linux live cd/usb and check there. If it doesn't work there, sounds like some hardware got fried.

Run the tests first. More than likely this is some windows hiccup. And if it is, it will affect any nic installed so a replacement won't solve anything.

It is a good way to test the hardware itself. If you run into the same issue, there's s good chance the hardware got damaged since 2 different OSes having the same issue is usually a hardware issue.
