Slow internet connection after installing LAN drivers

Hey guys,

So essentially my download speed is quite slow, along with high ping for other programs etc after my recent re-install of windows 10. I had no issues before the re-install and it was only to install windows on my new SSD. I've installed the latest drivers from my motherboards manufacturers website but it doesn't seem to help. What's interesting/frustrating is that when I tried to troubleshoot this issue myself and tried re-installing my lan adapters this would actually fix the issue for 5-10 minutes, but then the speed would suddenly drop off again and my ping would shoot up.

I've got a Gigabyte H110M-H motherboard and currently on the latest LAN adapter drive that I got off the website, version 10.9.422.2016 Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. But I have gone through versions 10.6.1001.2015 and 9.1402.2015 as well with the same result - a short spike of normal internet speeds followed by this terrible speed which doesn't get better. I've also tried turning off my firewall/anti virus but this hasn't helped.

It seems that any time i reset my network adapter, re-install, change settings etc, it 'fixes' my connection for about 5 mins. Any help figuring this out is greatly appreciated.

Just the one computer? Any problems noted on other existing network devices?

Are you using any "auto" or "auto negotiate" settings on the network adapter card?

If so, change them to manual. Or if manual try "auto's".

You can also check your router's admin logs and the computer's Event Viewer logs for errors, warnings, or information events that occur just before or at the time speed drop. Right-clicking a log entry in Event Viewer will present more details about the event that was logged.
