Slow internet for gaming at my college

I live in my college dorms and the internet is slow. They have ethernet ports but they arent activated and i can't get it activated because i went to the IT and they said they dont lead anywhere pretty much. How do I get better internet for gaming? I have been trying to play CSGO and sometimes its okay but other times its unbarable, also i download at roughly 80kb/s so it takes like 3 days to download a 5GB game. I use a edimax AC-1200 (http://www.edimax.com/edimax/merchandise/merchandise_detail/data/edimax/au/wireless_adapters_ac1200_dual-band/ew-7822uac/) wireless adapter, it works flawlessly at home, but obviously not too much at college.

Not much, unless you can buy faster wifi data plan.
