Hey there, I was just wondering why my computer is so slow to gain internet access when it first boots up. I can partially load chrome or other applications but they take around 2 minutes to gain full internet.
I never had this issue before so I am thinking Windows 11 might be the culprit. Any solution would be greatly appreciated other than downgrading back to Win10.

Thanks.

what are specs of the PC?

does it happen in a clean boot?
Try a clean boot and see if it changes anything - make sure to read instructions and make sure NOT to disable any microsoft services or windows won't load right - https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

if clean boot fixes it, it shows its likely a startup program. You should, over a number of startups. restart the programs you stopped to isolate the one that is to blame.

Let me start with the simplest question, are your drivers updated?

For graphics and the network adapter, yes. All available windows updates are also installed. Just one thing to note
this issue with the slow internet started happening after I did a windows update I believe.

I did a clean boot and used discord to benchmark the before and after. Even when I did a clean boot, discord still took over a minute to load and was stuck on the checking for updates screen for about 55 seconds.

So maybe this is a windows service itself hogging the network?

does it do it in safe mode?
go to settings
System/recovery/advanced startup -restart now button
  1. this restarts PC in a blue menu
  2. choose troubleshoot
  3. choose advanced
  4. choose startup options
  5. click the restart button
  6. choose a safe mode with networking
  7. Pc will restart and load safe mode
that will tell us if its windows or drivers.
