Slow lan speeds

Hello i have been having bad Ethernet lan speeds i am really confused.
I am using a powerline adapter which connected to a router down stairs, i have virgnmedia 100mbs fiber broadband and my speeds are only reaching 30mbs even after i bought the powerline please help me!!
I have a feeling its the motherboard problem
i3 530 2.93GHz
GTS 450 1GB edition Gainward
DDR3 4GB
ASrock H55M-LE - Motherboard
460w psu

Ouch, alright, so something is definitely wrong with your laptop here. Make sure all the drivers for everything are up to date (Windows Update usually does good here). Check your motherboard manufacturers website, see if there are updated firmware packages available.

If it turns out these ideas are null, not too sure what else to tell you.
For the adapter you have that is connecting you to the internet, what does it's speed max out at? Each adapter has it's own limitations on the amount of connectivity it can handle. It sounds to me like this adapter may be going out or you might need to move it to a different USB port. If you run a ping test to google.com, what are the results?

I tried an ethernet usb adapter but it still has the same speeds at 30mbs

It has to be your ethernet USB adapter or something is wrong with your motherboard. But since you ran a speed test on another machine and the results came back fine, it's your system. What speed does it get with a cable physically plugged in?

*FACEPALM* dude im sorry for wasting your time i just found out that a powerline adpter needs to be plugged in at the mains to get high speeds now im getting like 90mbs SORRY !
