Question Slow laptop

so, i have this Asus A43E laptop with:
Intel core i3-2330m
320gb HDD
Intel HD3000
2GB Ram

it's slow as hell, i've been looking for optimization tips, but none of these worked.
even opening the home button takes so long.
and i almost can't use youtube (it often crashes the device entirely)
i never use it for games, but if i would, it sure does gonna shut down the device forever

if there's only one part of the laptop that i can upgrade, which one should i go first?

What have you already tried......specifically?

I'd guess RAM would be best.....

SSD is typically the answer, but 2 GB of RAM is ridiculous.

I have no idea if your laptop will accept more RAM.

But if you can only change ONE...the RAM.
2GB is abysmal.

What OS is this thing running?

considering you're taking it into the win10 conversation, let's just guess the machine is running win10.

your problem is that these applications don't run well, it crashes a lot, it's a RAM problem. next up you go for an SSD

since you're using this laptop just for browsing, getting another 2 gb and turn it into 4gb dual channel will just be enough.

no need to choke yourself with 8 gigs

I tried to find Asus A43E at Crucial and failed.

I then tried Asus web site and found very little in English.

Elsewhere, I found this about the A43E:

Memory

2 GB DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM

2 x SODIMM socket for expansion up to 8 GB

To be honest, Softwares are built with much more recent hardware in mind. 2GB ddr2 will struggle with chrome + youtube too. You need to upgrade to new system to see signification improvement. Your hardware is much more old.

the crucial thing didn't work, it just closes and nothing happened.
but here's my computer specs
