Hi!

Sorry if I posted this on the wrong section of the forum.

I bought an Acer Aspire 5750g (Windows 7 64bit) laptop 3 months back.I have been having compatibility problems with my newly installed antivirus program (PC tools Internet Security).I used to get BSOD every two minutes after startup in normal mode. Then I solved it using eRecovery.
Then I installed the antivirus again(1 CD can be used for 3 computers) but I still got BSOD when I use the motioninjoy program (360 gamepad emulator). Its all taken care of,at least for now.

Problem is my PC has been slow ever since the first time I got BSOD.Startup and shutdown takes longer than usual.Nothing is ''instant" anymore.Every thing is delayed by at least 2 seconds, like opening the chrome browser for example. And I cant play games using DX11 anymore. They begin to lag.

I am pretty sure the problem has been caused by the frequent restarts caused by the sudden crashing. Now,how do I fix this?I even installed tuneup utilities and ran the maintenance.Doesn't seem to help.

I am really worried because this laptop is barely 3 months old!

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Yes the default factory disks are what is required. You will also find a product key number on the laptop. Sometimes this can be found under the battery. You will need this key for the reinstall.

1) Make sure that you have all the data you want to keep backed up somewhere as the reinstall will wipe the drive.

2) Download any updates that are required off windows update. Download the latest drivers where applicable and install them.

3) Install MS Security Essentials.

4) Install applications etc.

5) Put data back on drive.

This will not cost you any money.

umm.....how do install OS from sratch without spending money?I do have Default Factory Backup discs with me.Will that do?

sorry for being such a noob
