Slow PC system

PC takes ages to boot and when i get onto the home screen i have to wait for about 5 mins at least for me to be able to launch any program without it taking ages to respond if at all. Some times just in general use ill click to launch a program and nothing happens over and over. Generally very sluggish at opening programs and all tasks related to similar things. Gaming however works fine from what i can tell.

What OS are you running? Are you familiar with modifying what "startup programs" you have enabled/disabled? You may have quite a few unnecessary ones loading up when you log onto Windows that are slowing down your startup time.

Im running windows 10 home and yes i have trimmed down a lot of my start up programs. ok system specs: i5 6600k, MSI Z170a Gaming M5, 16gb ddr4 ram, 1080 sc 2 way sli, i have 1 500gb laptop (small HDD) and 2 SSDs the OS runs off the HDD.

Is it hanging after you turn it on / on the post screen?? if it is the hdd maybe dying.

yes its constant, i just tried to open my documents and it took about a 30 secs if not longer

Is win10 up to date. Because a clean install if you dont kill notifications can kill it. It lags. Altho since its slow booting as well, I woiuld say the hdd is knackered.

hdd do tend to boot up slow and slow times at startup loading times from boot up and startup do take long you should have the ssd as your os you will see some improvement bootup and startup loading times

ok im saving up for a 1tb ssd to put all my stuff on so yeah ill try that 😀
