Slow performance or expecting too much? GTX 670

My current setup:


Gigabyte GTX 670 OC
1090T 3.8ghz + hyper 212
8gb ddr3 1600mhz corsair vengeance ram
128gb vertex 4 SSD
500gb HDD 7200rpm
M4A89GTD PRO USB/3 MOBO
700w PSU stealth quiet 2 corsair

So, I'm playing games like Battlefield 3, Assassins creed 3, civilization 5, counter strike global offense, Total war series games etc.. I find I'm getting very low FPS and lag in all these games even after I over clocked it with MSI afterburner. I know my CPU may be bottlenecking it but I feel like the amount of FPS I'm getting doesn't make sense. I heard this card was give me very very good performance but I feel like I can't run most games on their max settings. Mind you im only running at 1650x1050 at 720p so I'm not asking much resolution and I have low texture and no V sync.

Any idea whats going on? I'm updated to latest drivers also.

Okay so one thing you can try is when you change your settings if you are getting similar frames then it very well could be a cpu bottleneck. You have a pretty good CPU however the higher end cards this series will bring cpu's to there knees.
