Slow speed of USB 3.0 Drive

Hi

read & write speed will depend on where the data is coming from eg: coming over a network cable, local SATA 2 or 3 hard disk, SSD or ram disk
and also on file size

I am testing a new 64GB Sandisk usb 3 (which claims upto x15 faster) and getting varying speeds upto 20MB/sec.
But currently writing at 8 MB/sec because source & destination are on the flash drive.

But I am writing from my primary drive which is SSD 240GB by Gigabyte. and this drive gives 56 mbps on mac not on windows why...

Ok this is where you got to read the fine print....
USB 3 is faster than USB 2 by quite a margin - people who sell USB Drives always state that this is faster.
What they don't tell you, is that they still put * chips in the USB so that will be your max speed.
You need to look at the CLASS of your USB for real world speeds.
Not the best example - but if you scroll down you can see actual speeds - has not much to do with USB speed as this isn't the slow part.

But I really works faster on Mac PC.
Almost 54MB/s Faster than windows why..
