[SOLVED] Slow Speeds Over Ethernet

Hello All,

I am getting some odd slow speeds over Ethernet. My desktop is getting the correct speed, but my laptop is getting very slow download speeds. The upload is slower than desktop, but is fine. Both the laptop and desktop are plugged into the same switch. I have tried swapping the cables and ports and it doesn't fix the issue. Below are the speeds for both computers and the Specs for my laptop. Any insight would be appreciated.

Router:
ZyXEL EMG2926

Switch:
NETGEAR 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch (GS205)

Desktop:
Download: 900+ Mbps
Upload: 900+ Mbps



Laptop:
Download: 7 Mbps
Upload: 700+ Mbps



Laptop Specs:
Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Lan Adapter: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

I did a fresh windows install recently and didn't install any network applications.

I stand corrected. It turns out it was a Dell Application called SmartByte. I uninstalled it and I am getting the correct speeds now. Thanks for the help!
