hello.... for a few weeks I have been having an unusual problem, that I initially blamed on torrent downloads, but it's actually related to internet access... my system slows down (in particular, video playback) even when I load a website (news, facebook, email, whatever)... it's a new problem, and I have a very strong CPU, a 100GB free solid state system HD and 700GB free regular disk... I only have 8GB free memory, but I only use 60-70% of physical memory, so I am baffled

just in case, I use Avira thanks!

update: removed Avira (with some effort, it was very persistent) and went back to Avast, warts and all, problem solved

Solution
Torrents are a Grey area item, some say not strictly legal, meaning they are hacked, hijacked, copies etc. The ppl who make them or pass them on make no claims about 'cleanliness' so it's really not hard for a hijacker Trojan to attach itself to outgoing transmissions, unbeknownst to the sender. Because of its 'grayness' programs like avast, Norton, avg etc don't exactly monitor incoming transmission either, unlike texts or emails or downloaded material. End result is that it's extremely easy to pick up malware or Trojans or even implanted viruses from torrents. And they are usually hidden from sight, attached to the download and implemented as soon as you open the torrent for the first time. Because if the link, you'll probably end up...

How is it dumb? That is like, the best way to get a virus. Download random torrents off the internet.

He didn't say "for sure" he just said he wouldnt be surprised.
