Slow wifi lan speed transfer.

I'm using Asus ac-51u router, i'm having speed issues over wifi lan transfer on my laptop having 'Broadcom 4322AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n' Wi-Fi Adapter. While transferring files over wifi on my LAN home network transfer speed max out at 400 KB/s. Well i thought that this was due to draft N spec of my laptop wifi adapter.
But, recently i connected my laptop to my friends home router manufactured by TP Link ,dont recall model no but it was old one maybe N150 2011-12 model.
On that router wifi lan tranfers were around 5 MB/s on my laptop.
Tried lot of setting changes on my home network but speed does not reaches 5MB/s value .
Please help

There are MANY things that affect WiFi performance.

Distance, walls in between, wall construction, rooms in between (kitchen?), other electronics, neighbors on the same WiFi channel, etc, etc.

well there is no such hindrance, i placed my laptop next to router and tested, even turned off all the WiFi devices leaving my laptop.
Since my laptop has dual band adapter and router too, so tested on 5ghz band, still the same speed of around 400KBps.
