Slow Wifi Speeds

So I bought the Rosewill RNX-1900pcs wifi adapter after my other one was fried, but I am getting ~500kb/s download speeds from Steam and less from the internet, while with my 300mp/s adapter I was getting 2mb/s. I have reinstalled the driver multiple times but to no avail. Do you guys have any ideas on how I can fix this?

Check some reviews of the device online on sites like Youtube and such to get an idea of its quality, if not make sure that all the obvious is done;
-Point the ariels toward the router
-Install Drivers
